Do you like the sound of dinner combined with an opportunity to support collections that preserve the cultural heritage of the chemical sciences and technologies? Then, do we have the event for you!
On December 3, 2014, from 5-8:30 PM, please consider joining us at the Chemical Heritage Foundation (CHF) in Philadelphia, PA, for our 2nd Annual Acquisitions Night!
During the event, you will see a number of CHF’s rare books (like the beautiful Artificial fireworks, 1766, shown above), paintings, manuscripts, 16-millimeter films from the archives, and photograph albums. You will be able to “adopt” these items or contribute to their preservation.
You will also get a sneak peek at the new exhibit Books of Secrets: Writing and Reading Alchemy - which doesn’t officially open until December 5th!
And did we mention that dinner will be provided?
Advance registration is required for this event and there is a registration fee of $50.00. To register, follow the steps here: Acquisitions Night Sign Up
As always, we thank you for your continued support! We hope to see you on December 3rd!
P.S. Check out these posts for other items that will be on display during Acquisitions Night: Chandler notebook; Weg-Wyzer Voor Aankoomende Goud en Zilversmeeden (1768);Georg von Welling’s Opus Mago-Cabalisticum et Theologicum (1719).
